LCD TV wall mounts have two basic parts; they have the back plate that is mounted on the wall and the front plate that has the mounting hole to be screwed at the back of your LCD TV screen. But there are actually various types of wall mounts from different brands for your Liquid Crystal Display or LCD television. They are readily available in the market and vary according to mounting technique. You can choose among standard fixed mount, tilting mounts, ceiling wall mounts or articulated swivel-arm wall mounts.
If you wish to hang your Samsung LCD TV above eye level, the bet choice would be the tilting wall mount. This is the ideal wall mounting technique if you wish to watch television while lying in bed. If you want a more specific view at a certain angle, you may opt to buy the articulated swivel-arm mounts. With this, you can swing your screen from side to side to get your preferred angle of viewing.
Fixed LCD television mounts take the least space in your room. They add less than 2 inches to your already thin flat screen. Usually, they just add approximately 1.62 inches to the total depth of your screen. They are the simplest among all the types of wall mounts and the easiest to install. They are also the most affordable. An already heavy-duty fixed LCD TV mount sells for approximately $60.
However, remember that you have to consider the necessary cables and inputs that you may need before finally setting up a fixed wall mount. Since it is fixed, it may be very difficult to insert certain inputs at the back of your television. If you need to pass a new cable, you may need to unscrew the LCD TV from the wall bracket.
The tilted and articulated arm mounts, on the other hand, further defines depth in the overall LCD TV wall mounting. These types of wall mounts have a 3-inch approximate depth that allows you to connect cables any time compared to the less than 2-inch depth of standard and fixed wall mount. You can easily add more cables if you use these types of wall mounts.
Tilting wall mounts are recommended for areas where you cannot identify the ideal mounting height. The swivel type allows more variation in viewing since it gives you the option to watch not only in a vertical angle. You can reduce glare issues and improve your watching if you choose a wall mount with a swivel bracket.
The ceiling wall mount is a good option for the bedroom. But this is the most difficult to assemble and may need a professional for installation. It is not recommended that you do the installation yourself as further considerations should be taken into account. This is more expensive than the rest of the mentioned types as it sells for $75.
Articulated-arm LCD TV mounts provide a more improved viewing experience. You have the benefits of tilting and swiveling in one. But then this type of wall mount is the most expensive. They sell at least $300 but you can be assured of the quality since it is constructed from heavy-gauge steel. Additionally, the appearance will complement your sophisticated LCD television.
But whatever you choose, do not forget to buy from a reputable seller. Ensure that you get warranties. And most importantly, make sure that your Samsung LCD TV fits your wall mount. Remember to consider not only height and width measurements but most importantly, weight or capacity.
